Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Server logs - IP address and user-agent on requests (standard, for security and diagnostics). Cloudflare, as the CDN/proxy, also sees this data.
• Comments - name (shown), optionally email and text. Email is not published and is used only to fetch an avatar via Gravatar (a hash is sent). We also store the author's IP - for moderation and spam protection.
• Analytics - GoatCounter: no cookies, no personal data, no cross-site tracking. It counts anonymous page views.

We don't collect: phone, payment data, precise location. There is no reader registration and no ads.

2. Cookies and localStorage

There are no advertising or tracking cookies. The browser's localStorage only keeps preferences: theme (dark/light), language and reading/course progress. This data never leaves your browser. An auth cookie exists only for the site administrator, not for readers.

3. Third parties

• Cloudflare - DNS, CDN and protection (sees traffic as a proxy).
• Gravatar - avatar by email hash, only if you provided an email in a comment.
• GoatCounter - anonymous visit analytics.

4. Retention

• Comments - for as long as the site exists or until you request deletion.
• Server logs - rotated automatically, kept for a short time.

5. Your rights

You can ask to delete your comment and its associated data - reach out via GitHub @sanyastem.

6. Changes

If anything material changes, we'll update the date at the top of the page.
